I just read your editorial in regards to immigration reform and I totally disagree with your conclusion. There are 6.5 billion people in the world that would love to come to the US for a better life, but we can’t accept 6.5 billion people, so we have laws that allow for immigration. Your conclusion is that we should allow all these 12 million law-breakers the benefit of citizenship. WRONG.
We need a guest workers program that allows migrants to come and go. We need to know who they are; which includes photos, finger prints and DNA. If they are found doing something wrong then they need to be prosecuted and then sent packing with no chance for immigration or guest worker participation.
The law should be if your parents aren’t legal then neither are you.
Pres. Calderone has made some comments BUT the laws of Mexico are even worse than in the US; any changes should be mutual.
