Hello! My name is Stephanie Myers writing from Albright Middle School in Villa Park, Ill. I am writing a persuasive paper to try and get people to save the environment, and have second thoughts. I am 13 years old, and would like as many people as possible to see this.

Did you know that you can save thousands of animals by doing something as simple as recycling and picking up litter? Animals should NOT be killed by pollution.

First of all, there shouldn’t be oil spills. Oil spills can happen in many ways. One way is when boats dump oil into bodies of water. When a boat dumps oil into the water the fish might get the oil in their eyes or maybe even die from the toxins. People are another reason why fish and other living creatures are being killed. People should find another use for the oil instead of one wasting, and two they can use it for their cars. Have you ever heard of an oil factory bursting? Well it can. A way to solve that problem would just be to simply have more inspections and be more scrupulous. If an oil factory bursts, then ten times more oil that would be dumped into the water that when people do and boats do!

Next, are you someone who litters? When people throw their wrappers and bottles out of the window when they’re driving or walking, that one wrapper kills many animals! The animals can eat the wrapper or the bottles and then the toxins can kill them. Mmmm McDonald’s! Did you finish that burger or the rest of your chicken nuggets? Maybe you even threw them out the window? When you throw your food out of your widow or leave it on the floor, that can kill many animals. The food might be poison to them. If an animal gets to that wrapper, the food inside can kill them and so can the wrapper itself! Please pick up your wrappers, cans ext. Do not litter!

Finally, factory smoke can kill animals too. The toxins get into the air and then the animals die. A way to stop that would be to make the chemical less toxic. If the chemical is less toxic than animals will not die as easily. If you don’t put a lot of chemicals in, that will help too. If there is not as much chemical in the factory, not as much pollution will come out. There should be a law to make the chemicals less toxic, and that will save the animals.

All in all, pollution kills and hurt animals. Littering, factory smoke, and oil spills endanger animals. People should not pollute – it kills animals. You should recycle, use cars less, and pick up any litter.
