Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Your consistent negative portrayals of Chicago and Illinois as corrupt and unattractive economic markets will certainly not help us gain more jobs. Reading your editorials on a regular basis leaves the impression that our city and state are doomed to continued decline and eventual ruin.

Where are the city newspapers of yesteryear that gave us the famous sobriquet “The Windy City?” The Tribune should advocate great possibilities and the positive future of this city and state. Sure, there are problems, both political and economic, but constantly nagging about them will just create “deaf” ears to them and any possible solutions.

As a cheerleader for this dynamic city and this historic state, the Tribune could become an important catalyst for continued growth and development, creating an even greater world-class city and a stronger and more productive state.
