To answer the questions of George Ryan Jr, about “Is this what American justice is now?” You betcha! And for us ordinary Joes, it’s always been that way. I applaud U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer’s decision to keep former Gov. George Ryan in jail. Sentenced to 6 1/2 years means just that and always should — for me and the likes of the former governor. Do the crime and do the time. This was a good decision, the right decision. And if Ryan’s son wishes to talk about “heartless and cruel,” remember the Willis family.
