Sterling Brown’s only basket of the night with one second left in overtime won it for No. 16 Proviso East and provided the only exciting finish of the day. Keith Carter, Michael Nicholas and Darryl Green scored 12 points apiece for Proviso East (6-1), which rallied from a 26-18 halftime deficit. Tom Garvin scored a game-high 23 and Brad Anlauf had 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds for Hinsdale Central (3-6).

Proviso West 71, Foreman 54
Nicholas Frazier scored 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting and was perfect on three attempts from 3-point range for the host Panthers. Ryan Woods approached a triple-double in the victory with 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Jawaan Toney scored 15 points to lead Foreman (4-6), which trailed 64-35 after three quarters. Proviso West (8-1) will take on No. 10 Homewood-Flossmoor in the second round Wednesday night.
