As usual, Clarence Page is a voice of calm and reason. His recent column on civility in political debate is right on point. However, our nation has a rich history of incendiary speech when it come to politics. None of this is new. The issue is that now people see they can profit from it. Both sides of the political debate are guilty of this, so the finger-pointing is a waste of time. The American electorate should not tolerate this any longer. We should demand a discussion of the massive issues facing this country. An old coach once said, “instead of pointing a finger, point your thumb.”
