It is sad that Chicago native Phil Cavarretta’s passing on Dec. 18 received so little notice in Chicagoland. He had a lengthy, wonderful life until his death at 94, with an outstanding 20-year career with the Cubs. He had a blessed family life, with a 74-year marriage and five children. I saw one short article about his death, though there was much more on the internet. So I just want to say rest in peace, Cavvy, and thanks for the great memories. I hope there are others out there who share these sentiments.
