Rahm Emanuel’s decision not to participate in last night’s mayoral forum, which was sponsored by numerous neighborhood organizations and attended by 1200 people at the Michigan Avenue Marriott, tells us one thing: he is too arrogant to be mayor of Chicago. Obviously he doesn’t heed the wisdom attributed to Woody Allen that 80 percent of life is just showing up. Nor does he seem to realize the well-known business adage that a satisfied customer tells 3 people; a dissatisfied one tells 3000. I hope that the 1200 people who came to hear all four major candidates but were denied Mr. Emanuel’s presence will in fact tell as many people as they can that he is not the man for the job and that we don’t want our new mayor “Rahmed” down our throat. Mr. Emanuel, no show, no vote.
