“The Chicago Code” is a police series set and filmed in the city, aiming for a level of location detail rarely achieved in network television, the city itself becoming a character. Its 12 hour-long episodes shooting until mid-December take place under and around the El, in the city’s nooks and crannies, in a warehouse on the West Side that is decked out, inside, as Chicago police headquarters, and in neighborhoods.
