Rashaan Fox was 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in Mather’s opener.

Ruben Cruz threw a complete-game, no hitter and struck out 15 for the win. He also had a double and scored a run for St. Francis de Sales (1-0). Juan Lopez had a home run and scored twice in the win.

Shane Brown (2 IP, 3K) and Darius Day (3 IP, 4K) combined to toss a no hitter for Simeon (1-0). Quintin Richardson had a three-run triple and Robert Fletcher had a 2-run triple.

Winning pitcher Joe Plaud went 1-for-2 with a double and three RBIs for Von Steuben. Andres Montenegro had two hits, including a triple, and four RBIs in the win.

Pat Kenney went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Anthony Garza added two hits and an RBI for Warren (1-0). Ryan Kennedy earned the win with seven strikeout in 4 1/3 innings. He allowed just one hit.

Bri Cavin had three hits including a double and a home run, and drove in five for Conant (1-0). Sarah Thompson had a grand slam and five RBIs in the win.

Rachel Doring didn’t allow a hit until the 5th inning and struck out six to earn the win for Fremd (1-0). Megan Horn went 2-for-3 including a two-RBI single in the win.
Gordon Tech 20, Pritzker 5 (5 inn.)
Melanie Claudio gave up two hits, one earned run and struck out seven in five innings for Gordon Tech in its opener.

Faith Johnson went 3-for-4 with a triple, a home run and two RBIs for Stagg (1-0). Jess Arebalo was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, two stolen bases and an RBI in the win.

Caitlin Sernett had three hits, scored twice, stole three bases and drove in three for Vernon Hills. Jenn Claussen had a home run and three RBIs in the win.

Megan Mattera had the complete game win for Lake Zurich and homered at the plate. Christina Sandstedt was 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two run scored in the win.

Emily Shanker was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Deerfield (0-3) in the loss.

Elli Ackermann had the lone goal on an assist from Dana Nelson. Kelly Pedersen earned the shutout in goal for Barrington (2-0).
