Why are the Chicago Public Schools insisting on a blanket program that provides breakfast to all students when not all students are in need of a breakfast? This from the same school system that is looking to consolidate schools because of budget problems and has one of the shortest school days in the country. If kids are hungry, feed them. But some parents do feed their kids before school, as they see fit, and don’t need more time taken away from their child’s instruction.
