I step into the voting booth and make my selection. The winners go to Washington to serve. Can I talk to them directly on the phone? Not hardly. If I email them, will they answer my question? You get a prepared form letter stating what they have done on the subject. Well, whom do they talk to? Lobbyists. Who are they? They represent large corporations and Wall Street. What do they talk about? Apparently what they can do for each other. What about what I want? Sorry, you are no longer in the picture.
Is this what our forefathers envisioned? Remember the commercial about the Native American paddling down the polluted river with tears running down his cheeks? If he was here, he also would be shedding tears. Then why do I have to vote? Because we are the monkeys who push the buttons that start this fiasco!
