Zach Darabanis was 2-for-5 with a home run to lead off the game and drove in 2 for Beecher.

Coal City 4, Westmont 3

Lane Cowherd scored on a Danny Darling single with two outs in the seventh inning to get the winning run across for Coal City (9-6, 3-1).

Dwight 19, Wilmington 7

Loyola 4, Fenwick 2

Jon Savarise went the distance allowing just one earned run and striking out 6 for Loyola (4-8, 3-0). He was also 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the win. Logan Spurlin (2-for-3, 2B, 1 RBI), Danny Rafferty (2B, RBI) and Eric Hagman (RBI) also powered the Rambler offense.

Manteno 9, Peotone 0

Paul DuFrain went all 7, allowing just three hits while striking out 12 for the win. Nick Kirchschlager was 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs for Manteno (13-3, 4-0).

No. 2 Mount Carmel 9, St. Joseph 0

Tyler Laurisch pitched a complete-game, 1-hitter to lead Mount Carmel (16-1, 4-0), striking out 6 in the win. Beau Filkins was 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs and Sam Kint had 2 hits and drove in 1 to lead the offense.

Sam Travis was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBIs and Kevin DeFilippis was 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs for Providence (13-0, 3-0).

Reed-Custer 3, Herscher 2 (8 inn.)

Grant Van Haelst had a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth to make himself the winning pitcher for Reed-Custer (10-9, 2-2). He struck out 8 while allowing 2 earned runs. Alex Hagberg also homered in the win.

No. 8 St. Laurence 16, Bishop McNamara 4 (5 innings)

St. Laurence’s Mike Chimera was 2-for-4 with a 3-run homer and a 2-run double. He also earned the win on the mound, giving up 5 hits and striking out 2 in 4 innings for St. Laurence (14-3, 5-0).
