Thank you, Chicago Tribune, for being bold enough to point out the serious flaws in our system. Illinois voters need to rise up and take responsibility to fix this broken system. When senators from neighboring states can avoid their responsibility and run and hide in our state, and our governor praises them, we have serious issues to face.
This is not about Republican versus Democrat. This is about taking responsibility for the best interest in the future of our state. If we continue to sit here and do nothing we are going to see our State more bankrupt than it already is. The solution is to go to the polls and start our own term limit campaign. Regardless of your choice of party, go to the polls with the intent of voting these old established career politicians out of office. Start with the oldest and keep working down.
If you do not have concrete evidence of the person’s commitment to doing the “right thing” for our state and the good people of Illinois, then do us all a favor and vote them out.
These professional politicians are never going to vote for term limits. They are enjoying the luxuries of a nice lifestyle, living very comfortably on our tax dollars. What goes on in Springfield on a day-to-day basis is an absolute travesty. We can sit around and complain or we can make up our minds to do something about it.
We have choices, we have a say and it starts with every voting opportunity. Put partisan politics aside and start doing the best thing for the people of this state.
