It isn’t surprising that 45 percent of Republicans believe that President Obama was born outside of the United States. Large numbers of Republicans also believe other nutty ideas, like the idea that it is smart to drastically reduce government spending while our economy is still on its knees and that cutting taxes on the wealthy will help bring down the nation’s deficit and create thousands of new jobs.
