Gabe Carimi is a behemoth. Listed at 6-foot-7-inches and 314 pounds, he won the Outland Trophy and was named the Big Ten’s best offensive lineman.

He started 26 straight games for the Badgers and had a reputation as a nasty player on the field. At the NFL scouting combine in February, he declared himself the best offensive tackle in the draft, which led some observers to label him as cocky.

But the Bears’ 2011 first-round draft pick has a sensitive side. For example, on April 23 after seeing “Water for Elephants,” a romantic drama based on Sara Gruen’s novel,

Carimi was moved to tweet, “omg water for elephants. sooooo good.”
