Storyline: Now 1-4-8 (11 points), the Fire’s club-record winless streak hit 11 games Thursday with a scoreless tie in Kansas City. Sean Johnson’s second straight shutout was encouraging. The Fire have lost just once since April 17, but seven of their last eight decisions have been ties. Historically, the Fire have done well against Columbus on short turnarounds with a 7-3-1 record on three days or fewer rest. The Crew snapped a five-game winless streak Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake.
