It is heartening that shale gas will provide an Interim Relief. However, lest we forget, a similar situation in ’70s shook us and then we fell back to the stupor.

In the 70s, we were looking for a non-petroleum based energy.

Unfortunately, after the shortage, the oil prices fell. In the name of economics all of our efforts to find alternate dependable energy came to a halt because economics started to favor gasoline!

Yes, economics are important in fuels, but are they as important as the future of the country or mankind? Should we take the wind out of solar, wind and all other energy approaches just because currently they are economically not feasible?

We were caught sleeping once; is it not time for us to wake up? Opportunity has knocked the second time, can you believe it?
