Epipphanny Prince knew what her Sky coach Pokey Chatman would tell her. She owed her one.

Scoring just two points and saddled with three fouls, Prince sat for most of the first half. As Chatman told Prince when she coached her overseas, Prince had no choice but to make up for it.

She delivered with 10 points in the second overtime of the Sky’s 107-101 victory Thursday night at Allstate Arena against the Sun to finish with a career-high 25 points.

“I was well-rested,” Prince dead-panned. “So I had to do it.”

Meeting for the third time already in this early segment of the WNBA season, the Sky and Sun heated up their rivalry. The Sun’s (4-2) only two losses on the season have come against the Sky (4-3), who broke a two-game losing streak.

The victory with 20 lead changes can serve as a touchstone later in the Sky’s season.

“It’s emotional,” Chatman said. “We have a long way to go but it’s nice to win against a veteran team.”

Sky guard Tamera Young helped make up for the loss of Dominique Canty, who is out for about three weeks with a knee injury. Young scored a season-high 20 points off the bench, despite averaging just 4.4 points per game.

Sun center Tina Charles added just two points in both overtimes to finish with 22 points and guard Renee Montgomery scored 33 points. Sky center Sylvia Fowles scored 24 points with 12 rebounds.
