People demand honesty, integrity and concern from their politicians. They also expect those same qualities in their business leaders.
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)/Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) in Values-Driven Leadership program at Benedictine University is an innovative program targeted at organization consultants and senior business executives to prepare them as socially and environmentally responsible leaders for the 21st century.
The three-year program is modeled after Benedictine’s award-winning Ph.D. Program in Organization Development and focuses on executive leadership development, leading high-performing organizations, sustainable business and leading in today’s global political economy.
Students can choose from one of two tracks: a research-focused Ph.D. degree that concludes with a scholarly dissertation based on original research; or a practice-oriented D.B.A. degree that concludes with an applied dissertation based on the design and implementation of a major change initiative.
“The program is designed for senior leaders who want to build a successful and sustainable enterprise by aligning social, ethical and environmental performance with their core business strategies,” says Jim Ludema, Ph.D., professor of Organization Development and director of the Center for Values-Driven Leadership.
“The program connects like-minded peers with the world’s best thinkers and the most advanced knowledge to help them elevate their leadership to the next level,” Ludema adds.
The Ph.D./D.B.A. program is an extension of Benedictine University’s Center for Values-Driven Leadership, a dynamic learning alliance in which Benedictine faculty, staff and students collaborate with top universities, corporations, executives, thought leaders and other partners.
“I am very excited about this program,” says William J. Carroll, Ph.D., President of Benedictine University. “The world is calling for socially responsible, environmentally-conscious, values-driven business leadership. This program parallels our values as a university and a community.”
