An electrical fire in the historic Pullman neighborhood displaced ten people, none of whom were injured this afternoon on the Far South Side.
The fire started about 1:40 p.m. in the basement of a two-story building at 11266 S. Langley Ave., said Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight.
All occupants of the single-family residence were able to escape without being hurt while firefighters “got it under control,” Calumet District police Capt. James O’Donnell said.
The fire was under control by 2:15 p.m. No one was hurt.
O’Donnell said the fire department determined the cause to be electrical and a police Bomb & Arson sergeant confirmed it was not suspicious.
Knight said initial reports of people trapped were not bona fide.
Ten residents were displaced, said O’Donnell.
