What an incredible show Holland Taylor performed, and wrote and produced in her affectionate portrait of Ann Richards. Our family, ages from 36 to 82, drove 100 miles to see one of Chicago’s best performances, and we are grateful for the opportunity.
A “moon shot,” as Ms. Taylor has described it, was a direct hit. With no political bent in our attendance, “Ann” showed us humor (lots of it), drama and passion like no other show we’ve seen in a non-musical production. Holland Taylor has surely got the search engines rolling to learn more about a remarkable woman and a life well lived in Ann Richards remarkable story.
Thank you to Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre for hosting the show and to Holland Taylor for what must be Broadway’s envy that we saw it here first! This will play well beyond Texas.
