MESA, Ariz. — Former Cubs infielder Ryan Theriot returned to HoHoKam Stadium Friday for the first time since 2010, as the San Francisco Giants came to town.

Theriot was booed at Wrigley Field as a Cardinal, but received a warm ovation as he went out onto the field for stretching.

Theriot played short and batted seventh, while the other part of the “Cajun Connection,” Mike Fontenot, batted eighth and played second.

Matt Garza started for the Cubs, allowing two runs over four innings. Anthony Rizzo hit a solo home run for the Cubs in a 4-2 loss, his second in four days.
