Relatives and police were searching for a 46-year-old Chicago man who has been missing since February after last being seen at his friend’s house in Country Club Hills.

Hozia Jackson of the 8200 block of South Drexel Avenue was last seen Feb. 25 leaving a friend’s house on the 3300 block of 185th Street in south suburban Homewood, said police and his niece, Ethel Jackson.

Her uncle was helping a friend clean her home and told her when he was leaving, Ethel Jackson said, but the friend did not look out of the window to see the vehicle.

“He said, ‘I’m leaving, my ride is here,’ ” and was gone, said Ethel Jackson.

Jackson’s family was concerned, but became alarmed when Jackson failed to call and wish his brother happy birthday on March 2, his niece said.

“He is known for calling everyone in the family,” his niece said. “He never forgets.”

Jackson’s brother went to the police station in Chicago on March 5 and reported him missing, police said. Relatives said he was taking medications for an illness.

Jackson was described by his family as a black man, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 155 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Jackson’s whereabouts should contact Area South detectives at 312-747-8276.
