Kaylin Kennedy was the winning pitcher for DeKalb (3-0).

Oswego 9, Sandwich 6 (9 innings)

Stephanie Prentice was 2-for-5 with a triple and the game-winning RBI bunt for Oswego (2-1). Jessa Garcia had an RBI-double in the 9th innings and Brandi Riess was 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs and made the game-ending tag and throw for a double play. Winning pitcher Katherine Daley (9 IP, 8 K) homered and had 2 RBIs.

BOYS HOCKEY

STATE FINAL at United Center

St. Rita 5, St. Viator 0

Stan Sojka had 2 goals and 1 assist, Rick Faron added 2 goals, and Marty Napleton stopped 29 shots in goal for St. Rita (46-13-4). St. Viator ends its season at 53-18-5.

GIRLS HOCKEY

STATE FINAL at United Center

New Trier 1, Lake Forest 0

Morgan Crane scored the lone goal, and Lexie Cirrincione had 12 saves (and a shutout) in the New Trier (29-3-5) win. Lindsay Projansky had 21 saves for defending champion Lake Forest (26-7-4).

Kelli Zickert and Carolynn Wieland each had a goal for Buffalo Grove.

Drew Wentzel and Courtney Raetzman each scored a goal for Conant (5-0).

Quincy Kellett scored the lone goal, and Lauren Frasca recorded her third consecutive shutout in goal for Rosary (3-0).
