C Patrice Bergeron dominated the faceoff circle in the first two games of the series, but he is just 19-17 the last two games. He led the league in faceoff wins this season.
C David Krejci has gone eight straight games without a goal and doesn’t have a point in the last five, four in this series. “It’s frustrating,” he said. “We had so many chances. I felt great before the game. I thought finally it was going to come for our line, we were going to produce. It sucks. It’s disappointing when you get that many shots, that many chances, and you come out short.”
G Tim Thomas, last year’s Conn Smythe Trophy winner, wasn’t thrilled with his 19th career playoff loss as the Bruins fell 2-1 in Washington in Game 4 Thursday night. With the game tied 1-1, he was beaten by Alexander Semin on a power play late in the second period and that turned out to be it for the scoring.
