Authorities said he has had run-ins with police in California, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Florida. But he has no felony convictions.
Chase, who was never politically active, surprised his family by quitting his job as a cook last year to join the Occupy movement. He traveled with other Occupy members to Rhode Island; Washington, D.C.; and Miami before arriving in Chicago last month, according to his uncle.
