LF Chris Heisey led off Sunday for the second straight day. “I like it fine,” he said. “The nice thing is they’ve told me not to change my approach.”

LHP Aroldis Chapman earned his first save of the year as the Reds’ new closer. Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth the Reds’ 5-2 win.

DH Ryan Ludwick hit a solo home run and doubled in two runs Sunday. It was his first home run since April 24. “It was nice to contribute,” he said. “I haven’t done that a lot lately.”

RHP Johnny Cueto went seven innings and allowed two runs on eight hits to improve to 5-1. He did not win his fifth until July 4 last year.

RHP Jose Arredondo retired Derek Jeter and Curtis Granderson to bail out LHP Sean Marshall on Sunday. He got both on groundouts. “That why I brought him in that situation,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said. “Every team needs a ground-ball reliever.”
