Storyline: The Fire play the first indoor game in team history as they begin third-round play in the 99th Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournament at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac, Mich. It’s also their first meeting with the Michigan Bucks of the Premier Development League, 1-5-1 all-time against Major League Soccer teams. The Fire won their last U.S. Open Cup championship in 2006 and reached the 2011 title game before falling 2-0 to the Seattle Sounders. Coach Frank Klopas is likely to field a mix of regulars and reserves for their third of four scheduled games in 11 days.
