Ankle problem keeps Hudson from making next start

Right-hander Tim Hudson is bothered by bone spurs in his left ankle and will miss Sunday’s start for the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves will promote right-hander Julio Teheran from Triple-A Gwinnett to start in Hudson’s place against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Hudson, who is coming off a 1-0 shutout victory over Miami on Tuesday, received a cortisone injection in the ankle. The Braves hope he’ll be available to make his next start Wednesday against the New York Yankees.

Hudson is 4-2 with a 3.83 ERA in eight starts.

The 21-year-old Teheran made three starts and two relief appearances for the Braves last season.
