Diamondbacks starter Trevor Cahill (8-8) allowed three runs on six hits in seven innings, striking out six and walking one.
Stephen Drew and Paul Goldschmidt added sacrifice flies as Arizona erased an early two-run deficit for the second straight game.
David Hernandez tossed a scoreless eighth before J.J. Putz closed it out for his 16th save to pull the Diamondbacks within five games of the National League West-leading Dodgers.
Chad Billingsley (4-9) lost his fifth consecutive start, giving up four runs on six hits in six innings. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter.
Jerry Hairston Jr. belted a two-run homer and A.J. Ellis had three hits and a solo blast for the Dodgers, who maintained their half-game edge over San Francisco in the West.
Kubel provided Arizona with an insurance run in the eighth, swatting his fourth homer in the last seven games.
