Your July 13 editorial “A prince of the city,” about Jesse Jackson Jr. and his relationship with Chicago, made me laugh. The fact is, in Chicago, a Democratic candidate could be deceased and would still get re-elected. In Junior’s case, I can see him getting re-elected, indicted, resigning and then his Democratic successor would be appointed by the powers-that-be.

I am sure that there is no need to worry about a Republican ever being elected in Junior’s district.
