I am sickened by the hypocrisy of those who act shocked at the completely predictable consequence of gun laws which allow unrestricted access to firearms. Americans respond as if this slaughter is some uncontrollable act of nature or God.

No, we have chosen this to happen, by rejecting intelligent limits on the possession of guns. We have made the conscious decision to hand a gun to any lunatic who want to use it. And then when people are massacred, all we can say is “So sorry.” It is not good enough.

But until each and every American accepts their personal responsibility for these horrendous murders, nothing will change. There will be another slaughter and another and another. At least we should have the intellectual honesty to admit we don’t really care enough to make any change.
