Two thumbs up on your Sept. 13 editorial about the teachers strike. School reform — “evaluations tied to student growth and empowering principals to hire the best” — is a concept whose time has come. You called it “the arc of history.”
I’d prefer a nautical theme. The basic image I see is Chicago Public Schools teachers standing on the dock, waving their hankies as the SS School Reform sails off without them.
