This is in response to “$100K pension for ex-teachers union lobbyist; Former employee of House Speaker Madigan took advantage of 2007 law” (Page 1, Sept. 23). As a retired teacher receiving a small monthly pension, I am always interested in reading about individuals who take advantage of the state pension system. Gail Purkey’s actions to enhance her pension income is another example of it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.
