On the offensive:
QB Nathan Scheelhaase missed more than two quarters with a head injury, and Illinois did little in his absence. Backup Reilly O’Toole threw an interception and lost a fumble in the third quarter.
Getting defensive:
Quarterback Denard Robinson totaled four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) and 287 yards of offense, and Fitzgerald Toussaint and Thomas Rawls each added touchdown runs.
The number:
13. Illinois’ yards of offense in the second half.
They’re still talking about:
Michigan shredding the Illini defense on three big touchdowns: Robinson’s 71-yard pass to Jeremy Gallon, Robinson’s 49-yard run and Rawls’ 63-yard run.
Sidelined:
Illinois coach Tim Beckman said Scheelhaase wanted to re-enter the game but “you could tell Nate wasn’t all right.” Beckman hopes to have him for the Illini’s next game.
Looking ahead:
Illinois has a week off before hosting Indiana at 11 a.m. on Oct. 27.
