(Updated: Changes “tallied” to “scored” in 5th graph)

Ducks 5, Flames 4: Daniel Winnik and Ryan Getzlaf each scored their second goal of the game in the third period and Anaheim held on to edge host Calgary.

Saku Koivu had a goal and two assists while Winnik also set up a tally for the Ducks, who have scored 12 times while winning their first two games.

Curtis Glencross recorded two power-play goals and an assist, Alex Tanguay netted a goal and set up another and Lee Stempniak also scored for the Flames, who rallied from an early 3-0 deficit before losing their second straight at home.

Winnik, who also scored twice in Anaheim’s season opener, had a rebound in front carom off his skate and into the net at 4:02 of the third to snap a 3-3 tie. Getzlaf netted a much-needed insurance goal advantage with 8:45 remaining as Stempniak converted a breakaway chance with 5:56 left to get the Flames within one.

Getzlaf, Koivu and Winnik scored in the first 10:53 as Anaheim appeared to be on its way to an easy victory. But Calgary scored twice late in the first and Glencross deflected Mike Cammalleri’s shot past Jonas Hiller 1:13 into the second to knot the contest.
