Dodgers activate Ellis

The Los Angeles Dodgers activated infielder Mark Ellis from the 15-day disabled list, and he was in the starting lineup on Sunday.

He had been out about three weeks with a strained right quadriceps muscle.

Ellis, 35, entered Sunday’s action hitting .342 with two homers. He went 0-for-4 Sunday against the Atlanta Braves.

The Dodgers also optioned Tim Federowicz to Triple-A Albuquerque.
