Athletics 10, Mariners 2: Bartolo Colon pitched seven solid innings to win his sixth consecutive start and Josh Reddick went 4-for-5 with a homer as host Oakland beat Seattle to salvage the finale of a three-game set.

Josh Donaldson, Seth Smith and Brandon Moss also smacked homers and the Athletics had 17 hits overall while increasing their lead in the American League West to three games over the Texas Rangers.

Colon (9-2) allowed two runs and eight hits to become the ALâ??s third nine-game winner. He didnâ??t issue a walk for the ninth time in 14 starts this season.

Seattle took a second-inning lead on Endy Chavezâ??s two-run single and Oakland tallied twice in the fourth on Smithâ??s run-scoring double and Reddickâ??s RBI single against Hisashi Iwakuma (7-2). Yoenis Cespedes delivered a tiebreaking double in the fifth and scored on Mossâ?? single for a 4-2 lead.

Donaldson and Smith hit back-to-back, two-out solo homers in the seventh and Oakland tallied twice more in the frame when Coco Crisp drew a bases-loaded walk and John Jaso hit a sacrifice fly. Moss and Reddick added solo homers in the eighth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The four-hit game was the third of Reddickâ??s career. â? Iwakuma allowed four runs and eight hits in five innings to lose for the first time since April 23. â? Oakland had nine extra-base hits, including four doubles and one triple.
