Kings 2, Devils 0: Ben Scrivens made 26 saves for his fourth career shutout as visiting Los Angeles extended its points streak to four games.
Dwight King had the lone goal for the Kings, who improved to 2-0-1 on their four-game road trip, which concludes Sunday against the New York Rangers. Anze Kopitar added an empty-net goal to seal the contest.
Scrivens turned aside 12 shots in the first period, six in the second and eight in the third. He made his second straight start in place of the injured Jonathan Quick, who was diagnosed with a groin strain.
Cory Schneider stopped 19 shots for New Jersey, which saw its four-game points streak come to an end. The Devils fell to 3-2-2 at home.
King was alone in front of Schneider and tipped a point shot by Jake Muzzin with 6:52 remaining in the game. New Jersey forward Damien Brunner was called for tripping in the final minute of the third period, eliminating any chance of a comeback.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Scrivens stopped 20 shots on Oct. 13 to earn a shutout in his first start for the Kings. â?
