Getting offensive: Juwan Brescacin recorded his first 100-yard receiving day with eight catches for 121 yards. He helped pick up the slack for Tommylee Lewis (toe) and Da’Ron Brown (hamstring).
On the defensive: Northern Illinois forced three turnovers in the first half. Defensive end George Rainey recovered a fumble, Boomer Mays intercepted an end zone pass and safety Jimmie Ward nabbed his sixth interception of the season.
The number: 4. Straight MAC division championships NIU has claimed with Wednesday’s victory.
They’re still talking about: Mathew Sims whiffing on three field goals. The kicker has made big plays in his career but was off his mark from 23, 40 and 47 yards in the first half.
Looking ahead: The Huskies host Western Michigan in their home finale Tuesday.
