Georgetown 80, High Point 45: Markel Starks scored a game-high 18 points and had five assists as the host Hoyas breezed to their fourth straight win.

D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera scored 17 points and Joshua Smith added 11 points for Georgetown (5-2). It was the 46th straight non-conference home win for the Hoyas.

Jorge Perez-Laham had 10 points and John Brown finished with eight points and seven rebounds for High Point (3-4). The Panthers, who entered the contest shooting 51.3 percent from the floor, connected on just 16-of-57 shots.

Starks had a 3-pointer as Georgetown jumped out to a 11-2 lead in the first three minutes. The Hoyas extended the lead to 26-11 on a short Starks’ jumper with 5:56 to go en route to a 28-16 halftime lead.

Starks scored five straight points as Georgetown opened the second half with a 10-0 run during the first two minutes. The Hoyas extended the lead to 57-25 on a layup by Smith with 10:21 left and led by as many as 40 points down the stretch.
