Forward A.J. Pacher scored 16 points as Wright State held off IllinoisChicago in the late going for a 68-61 victory in a Horizon League regular season finale on Saturday at the Pavilion in Chicago.

The Raiders (18-13, 10-6) secured no worse than a tie for third place in the league as guard Matt Vest added 11.

Illinois Chicago (6-24, 1-15) snapped a 17-game losing streak with last Tuesday’s 80-58 Horizon victory at WisconsinMilwaukee.

But the Flames couldn’t hold a three-point second half lead and the Raiders went in front to stay when guard Chrishawn Hopkins’ two free throws gave Wright State a 53-52 lead with 7:15 to play.

Guard Kelsey Barlow paced the Flames with 16 points, center Jordan Harks had 13 and guard Pat Birt added 12.

Next up are first-round Horizon League post-season tournament games starting on Tuesday.
