I am sure many people read about the botched execution in Oklahoma only to have shrugged and thought, “Who cares?” After all, this guy buried his victim alive.
What about her pain and suffering? I know that thought crossed my mind. But how can America keep the death penalty when the serious issue of finding a supply of effective drug cocktails for lethal injections might only get worse? Do we revert to gas, electrocution, hanging or what might be the most “humane” method of execution — firing squad? Or do we finally get to the point of recognizing how inhumane execution is to begin with?
