Thanks to Nina Metz for heading me off at the pass (“Outrage over ‘Weekend Update’ misses beauty of Leslie Jones’ jokes,” A&E;, May 5)!
I saw Leslie Jones on the most recent “Saturday Night Live” and was prepared to be offended. I was still turning the skit over and over in my head when Metz’s column reminded me that Leslie was voicing my sentiments exactly.
Metz also reminded me to consider the person and their true intent before jumping to personal offense. I am hungry to see what else Jones brings to the comedic table at SNL. The new hires are an “it’s about time” move! But can America handle it?
