The group of protesters that chose the McDonald’s headquarters to demand an increase in their wages are barking at the wrong executives.
Instead of being in Oak Brook, they should be in Springfield.
Democrats in Washington and Springfield have long supported increasing the minimum wage, however, with a Republican-controlled House of Representatives, it’s doubtful anything would be passed in D.C.
Springfield is a different story, however. With a Democratic governor and both houses firmly in Democratic control, the protesters should point a finger and their anger at the Illinois Democratic Party and demand they finally do something about raising the minimum wage instead of using it as a political club to wield at their opponents or just giving the issue lip service.
