Chicago Opera Theater: The company presents the local premiere of “Macbeth” — not Giuseppe Verdi’s familiar opera based on the Bard’s tragedy, but the Swiss-American composer Ernest Bloch’s 1906 version, in its Chicago premiere. Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra: Danish musical rarities and a Danish soloist make for an unusual season opener.
