Five people, including two women, were wounded in shootings overnight in Chicago, authorities said.
A 22-year-old man was shot at about 7:45 p.m. on the 4500 block of West Augusta Boulevard in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood, said Police News Affairs Offices Ron Gaines.
The man was sitting in the back of a van when a motorcycle drove up and shots were fired, Gaines said. The man was hit in the back and managed to get to Rush University Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, he said.
At about 8:20 p.m., a man in his 30s suffered a gunshot wound to his leg at the intersection of Kilpatrick and Chicago avenues on the West Side, according to Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro. The man was taken to Rush Oak Park Hospital.
About 20 minutes later, a 44-year-old woman was standing on a porch on the 7200 block of South Marshfield Avenue in the West Englewood neighborhood when she was shot in the abdomen, Alfaro said. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where her condition was stabilized, police said.
A 20-year-old woman was shot around 1:10 a.m. in the 7500 block of South Stony Island Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, Alfaro said. The woman was a passenger in a car driving north on Stony Island Avenue when someone in a white sedan pulled up and fired shots, police said.
The woman was hit in the right side of her face and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was stable, Alfaro said.
Around the same time, at 1:10 a.m., a man in his 30s was injured in a shooting in the Bronzeville neighborhood, said Alfaro.
The man was shot in the leg in the 4800 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue and was taken to Provident Hospital, he said. No other details were available.
