A man and a boy were charged with stealing a car from a 76-year-old man and hitting him in the North Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said this evening.
The incident happened on Oct. 8 at 9:30 p.m. on the 3600 block of West Peterson Avenue, police said.
The man had parked his black Mercedes Benz in his garage when he was attacked, police said.
After the robbery police found the vehicle in traffic and the two suspects were both inside, police said.
After police stopped the vehicle, the two fled but were arrested a short distance away.
Joe Milton, 21, of the 5300 block of West Van Buren Avenue was charged with one count of felony aggravated vehicular hijacking from a handicapped person.
A 17-year-old boy, whose name was not available because he is a juvenile, was charged with aggravated felony vehicular hijacking from a handicapped person, aggravated fleeing police, three counts of misdemeanor assault, one misdemeanor count of leaving the scene, and one misdemeanor count of resisting obstructing a police officer.
The two are expected to appear in bond court on Friday, police said.
