I think everyone is happy with the play of Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller so far. How about the play of the guy everyone thought the Bears were going to draft, defensive tackle Aaron Donald? Did the Bears get the better player? So far, Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton seem to be good consolation prizes for not being able to draft Donald. – Matt K., Greendale, Wis., from email

Good question. No doubt the Bears have been pleased with Fuller’s development and production through the early part of the season. I thought he was very good shadowing Kelvin Benjamin last week at Carolina.

The Rams have been pretty happy with Donald, drafted No. 13 overall, one slot ahead of Fuller. St. Louis coaches have credited Donald with 20 tackles, 15 solos, one sack, four pressures, four quarterback hits and five tackles for loss. Consider that production comes in 107 snaps in four games as the Rams have already had a week off. Donald is rotating with starter Kendall Langford (145 snaps) but if he continues to produce like this, the hunch would be that the rookie starts getting more playing time. I’d also agree with you that the Bears feel pretty good about Ferguson and Sutton and what they have been able to do. Their development and growth will be key when you look into the future for the defensive line.
